Greetings And Welcome To My MUET Blog!

Assalaamu'alaikum Warahmatullaah, Warm Greetings and Happy Reading! MUET stands for the Malaysian University English Test. It consists of four papers:- Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. The Reading paper carries the most marks.

This blog is named "MUET: English In Pre-University and University", the English being thought and used in the MUET is of the same standard as the English used in (Malaysian) universities. Readers, you are experiencing university English!

I hope the readers will find this MUET blog useful and can help them to do the tests as a prerequisite for them to pursue tertiary education in Malaysian Public universities and colleges. The MUET is being held three times a year, beginning in 2012 - in March, July and November. Candidates can sit for whichever schedule that suits them.

MUET Fans, You Have To Read, Read and Read!

When we do MUET we should have ideas. These ideas are important in order for candidates to tackle questions such as Speaking (Paper 800/2) and Writing (Paper 800/3).

Speaking paper instructions and task assignments could seem to be so simple but when it comes to doing it the candidates would suddenly go "blurred" - no ideas. That is when they will go mum, blissfully quite - because they do not know what to say!

So, if you are thinking of taking the MUET, let's say in two or three year's time, then you have to start reading. You should be reading on a wide range of topics - let's say, hmmm .... everrryyything under the sun! (... let's make it easier for you .... whatever that you can - lay your hands on!)

To be good in language you have to be listening, speaking, reading and writing regularly. It is about practice! And practice! And Practice! ....... Annd practiiiiice!
