MUET - Three Times, Beginning 2012!

Wonderful Readers!
Starting in 2012, MUET Is Three Times A Year!

This announcement is currently shown in the Website of the MPM (Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia), the Examination council that administers the MUET.

"MulaiMUET tahun 2012, ujian MUET akan dijalankan sebanyak tiga kali setahun dan dijangka akan berlangsung pada bulan Mac, Julai, dan November." 

That means candidates have more choice in terms of the timing of their test.  Three choices - in March, July and November.  This could be a nightmare for some teachers as they would be hard-pressed for time to teach the students who want to take the MUET as early as March.  Those who aspire to take the MUET that early (time of the year) then they have to make their own preparation to cover the syllabus.  Students have the freedom to choose at what time of the year that they want to take the tests.

    hi there....
    just want to ask,
    i've sat for muet in 2007 (mid year)
    and i'd probably will try to apply for university early of next year, so i wonder if my muet result is still valid to use???
    thnks for ur time...

    Hi Amy,

    Thanks for your response.

    Your MUET result is valid for five (5) years from the date of release of your results. Therefore, you can still use your MUET results if you want to apply for university entry next year (2012).

      Certain companies have found that MUET is a good standard for English. I heard from a reliable source that MAS (Malaysian Airlines System) will see a job applicants' MUET results when they apply for a position in MAS. Sorry, we just cannot tell what band does MAS require to take somebody under their "wings".

    or just useful to enter the universities? because i got band 2 in 2011 and already in uniten taking foundation. Do I need to register again for MUET in 2012..??

      Dear Alley,

      Sorry for this late (so late) reply. Well, better late than never!

      The MUET result is useful for entry into universities. As for applying for jobs, personally I have not heard any employers or interviewers asking for the MUET results to be evaluated by would-be employees.

      Government servants need to take the MUET when the need arises such as for promotions to a higher post (naik pangkat) or other purposes as required by the Public Service Department.

      Congratulations for being accepted into UNITEN. If the UNITEN requires you to take the MUET again then you should follow the usual procedures of applying and registering for the MUET tests. If they don't require you to get better bands for your MUET, you don't need to re-take the MUET. If you feel like taking the MUET just to improve your scores, go ahead! Just pay RM100.00!

      hai,if got band 3 ready..n then retake again the muet.... 2nd time if got band 2...which one will be considered?? latest band or highest band sir???

      You can use your better results (highest band) for your purpose. It is valid for two years.

      You will be getting your MUET results in early May, InsyaAllaah (God Willing).

    hi sir. i got the same problem like bomma . i used to retake my muet for second time. but, unfortunately i only got band 2. i am thinking to retake them again. but while waiting for the result, i need to use current muet result, for my upu. so, which one of the result will be considered by the UPU ministry ? the one that i got band 3 or band 2 . and for july test, when will be the result ?

    "The validity period of the MUET Result is as follow: MUET Results obtained before the year 2009 are valid until 18 July 2013."

    So it means if your MUET results obtained bfr 2009, you have to finish your degree before 18th of July 2012?
